SUMMARY

Cold Spray (CS) is a micrometer-sized powder deposition technology utilized for additive manufacturing and repair. It operates at temperatures below the powder material’s melting point, allowing solid-state deposition and compatibility with temperature-sensitive materials. CS enables the creation of multi-material products, promoting resource efficiency and environmental sustainability. The OPTIMA project aims to utilize machine learning (ML) to optimize CS coating procedures by integrating advanced parameter sensors. This aligns with strategic goals for digitalization in manufacturing, fostering sustainability and circular economy initiatives.
